you might find the above structure coming up in a week's time and me getting out of the vala (trap) my dear "friend" had set up for me here in kzh. So the local “gentry” keen on manhandling me and the essai “E man” going to “pokk” me will have to put together their acts fast; do not say later on that I did not warn you.

and even in putting up the temporary structure, shanker, i do not expect a smooth passage.   shanker - not very sure exactly what it is. as far as my memory goes, it is some thing like bunker that i came across in my NCC days - one year junior NCC  ( i belong to the first bunch of cadets of Mahe de La Bourdonnais College, LB College for short, Mahe, south india) and  two years senior NCC ; holds certificate B.

: the builders might refuse or put up a pretext for postponing the construction;  local goons can be arranged to scare the workers away - any thing is possible in my case.

but every eventuality is being catered for.

as usual i have plan c ready in case plan b fails.

THE CONJECTURES

                  I made a trip to trivandrum on 20110329 and rather than going to the rendezvous at enikkara as the pimps and their sub-agents would have anticipated I took a devious route to the village office at vattappara. This place had not been vetted as yet and the staff were very nice to me. My case was pending and they said I can even try to put in a word with the village officer.

                         The officer was away on duty and I when he came back in the after noon I told him about my predicament. He was surprised when I told him that my case was pending for more than one month and asked for the records and showed me that the application for the “pocku-varavu” was handed over to them only on march 10 more than twenty days after the registration on feb 17 !

                          I must have cut a very sorry figure; all this time while I was being told that the document will be available in one week, four days and all the application was not even filed and crude comments were being made about the village office staff.

How come ?

                      I dont have any definite information on this; but my conjectures are as good as solemn truths. As I mentioned earlier the indian pimp is going to "pokk" me tomorrow/wednes day/ fri day (and it goes on endlessly) Right at the moment it is sunday specifically so as the village office had told me on 29 that the document ought to be ready on this monday. It could be that the obliging trivandrumites had dutifully followed the “E”man's dictates and waited time and again before handing over the application. I do not see any other valid reason for the delay.

THE ALUVA CAUCUS
and 
THE NUNNA SEKHARANS

                      The crux of the matter is that there is a caucus  operating with its head quarters at aluva. Any body who has got anything to do with me will be taken to aluva by the NUNNA SEKHARANs ( that is a new name i have coined for the members of the indian pimp service ),  initiated into pimpdom and will be recruited as a subagent of the indian pimps . All sorts of offices are there like those who are to pretend as my “friend” and act as a mole; those who take charge of the appointment as my “relative”  vagaairah, vagairah!

                  I have already paid the cost of the land and now I will be “pokkalled by airmail” . The land will come in the hands of the “relatives”. The relatives will not want to keep the land in far off thiruvananthapuram and so immediately I am “pokkalled by air mail” you can buy it back at half the price and sell it again: how about that? If you have the pokku varavu and even the last tax receipt with you it will be simply not be possible to sell the plot to anyone else.

              I have made plans to go to trivandrum and collect the revenue document personally if possible on 20110404. It looks the indian pimp service has other ideas as evidenced perhaps by the following incident.

               and the incident goes like this - on 20110401 I had been to ernakulam south railway station to book a seat in the second class compartment of train no. 16341 on 20110404. And at counter no. IV I was told there were no seats available. I was a bit disappointed and turned back.

                  There is some thing called senior quota for those aged sixty and above and I thought I might enquire about that. The person at the enquiry counter told me there is no senior quota for the train 16341 but added that even otherwise seats were vacant in that train on that particular day and was wondering how come I was told that no seats were available.

                Then this lady found out from me at which counter I was refused, took pains to came over to the particular window 4 which was not her concern at all and got the ticket booked on her own the other person had shut down immediately after attending me. All I could do in return was to thank her profusely and express my very sincere gratitude.

Now how come I was denied the seat earlier? 
 

                There is a theoretical possibility that in the couple of minutes of my being refused a ticket and the lady at the enquiry checking the computer there was a bulk cancellation large enough to cater to accommodate all those in the waiting list and even then make seats vacant – possible but not probable.

                The members of the indian pimp service, the NUNNA SEKHARANs, were, as usual, tagging along from the locality where I am staying onwards and the railway station had been sanitised - I in deed had talked to some one on the phone about making the trip. They must have been really irritated for my moves in ernakulam that day were not at all those anticipated. I had been to the registration ig's office in ernakulam ( there was no prior information about this ) and then rather than go to the railway station as would be expected I had gone to manorama office and it was quite some time before I landed up in the railway station booking reservation counter. It looks the females whom the pimps take along as cover ( the easiest way you can fix an unattached male over here now a days is to make a complaint of “yon shoshan” ) had been dispersed after a long wait.

                       initially when my turn came in the queue of window no.4, the man had returned my application for I had not filled in the particulars fully. And once I did this and went back the fellow was waiting just for me without closing the window, which he did immediately I left. I thought it was so sweet of him. But the actual fact could be that he had been entrusted with the job of telling me that no seats were available.

              by the way, most of the time I go to the ernakulam town station to get the reservation done my seat will be 42 in 16341. so I tried a trick – rather than writing my second name I wrote my first name; and it worked – this time I allotted some other seat. Could be sheer coincidence; but it could also be a nincompoop (syn. Keralite ) trying to show off his “abilities” at computing.

                So I presume there was an effort to sabotage my trip on 20110404 - there is no need!

                   The long and short of it is that it is very much possible that even on monday 20110404 I will not be able to get hold of the document and start the house construction.

Will I be surprised ?

Not at all.

             You remember what happened to my pc monitor. All it had initially was an electrical problem and the fellow went on telling me he will deliver it on wednes day/ friday/ next week dragged on for almost three months. Ultimately this subagent also got tired and he had to deliver it to me. I took it to a shop I knew and they said nothing can be done about it for many critical parts were missing. i brought another monitor paying 4000 INR.

could be this sort of a fate is awaiting me here as well.

Am I worried ? 

Of course I am;

               but that is not the end of the world - i have plan B, making a temporary shelter and shifting my things and myself to that make shift set up - that you can do even without the pokkuvaravu document.

                  You must remember that I am an ex-service person in the real sense of the term. In my slightly more than ten years service I was in field for all seven years and that includes one and half years in high altitude leave alone the uncongenial climate areas and I feel the survival techniques will stand in good stead if such an eventuality comes up.

             To sum it up: I won't be surprised if I do not get the document on monday as well for the village office can always change their mind or they can me made to change their mind – just one hint from the gestapi will be enough.

             But rest assured if I am not in trivandrum on 20110404 I am in the local police lock-up sleeping naked ( I dont put on undies) or in a padded cell in a lunatic asylum.

             I made another trip to trivandrum on 20110321. the previous week when I visited the seller of the land I had been told that I will get the revenue documents, the so called “pocku varavu” the next week. So rather than make pestering calls on the phone I decided to make a trip to trivandrum and that is how I landed up in trivandrum again on 20110321.

            The usual rendezvous was the office of the document writer at enikkara. The indian pakkichi was there when I arrived and soon I could spot a member of the indian pimp service along with a subcontractor appearing in the locality. The hired thugs were also there keeping a look out in the vicinity.

           The document writer was missing – had reported sick and was at home. the last time I visited, again, he was not there in his office and I had a problem getting hold of the original registered documents. Could it be possible the pimp service had scared him away !

That is all beside the point.

           The “pocku varavu” document was still not forthcoming even after more than a month of the registration. In this area in ernakulam I am told it is usually available within a week. The concerned person, this time again told me it “might be ready in three or four days” and asked me to try ringing up after four days or so – this is the typical response I get in almost all such situations and, most likely, if I ring up there will not be any response from the other side.

         Without this particular ( ”pocku varavu” ) document I cannot get any work whatsoever done on the land; not even applying for permission for digging a bore well leave alone applying for sanction for building “theCloister”.

          My impression is that the indian pimp service has got involved in the matter. The line of argument would go like this - There is no need of handing over the ”pocku varavu” document to the mad man; you can hand it over to the rightful owners, the “relatives” ( or is it “guardians” ) once the mad man is disposed off. The “E”man, “essai” is on the job and will “pokk” the mandabudhi on “budhanashcha”. ( wednes day ). just Wait for a week.

           Once the week is over the indian pimp orders that you will wait for another week  and so on and so forth – we will “pock” him by then. You cannot expect a trivandrumite to flout the directions of even the lowest ranking police man – they worship those in power. “police paranjal anusarikkande” words of wisdom from pattalam biju, my erstwhile neighbour at thirumala. I expect things to drag on for quite sometime. “budhanashcha”./ “velliyazhcha” / “on sixteenth” / “on twentysixth” ad infinitum.

          So, I think rather than waiting for the house construction to finish I ought to concentrate on my writ petition to the apex court – 

             and in the mean time how about a temporary chemical castration ?  is there something like that available ?

HOUSE CONSTRUCTION
MY VIEW OF THINGS

A.     this is in the context of your sketch vide project no. RP/PC-194/2011 dated 07.3.2011 copy of which was received by me on 08.3.2011.


 1.    At the time of registering my name with you for house construction I have provided your concerned staff member my name and address  in writing and that is what you see in the receipt issued to me. I would want my name to appear in the documents you are preparing for me including the plan to be submitted for approval of the concerned authorities as given by me;  that is as dr. cheriyath jyothi  and NOT  mr. cheriyath jyothi.

2.    If you have any hang ups there please let me know in writing (NO e-mails please).

3.    I am a service pensioner of the kerala govt.  who retired on superannuation while on the faculty of medical college trivandrum as lecturer in the department of physiology. I have got a degree in medicine (MBBS of the kerala university) from medical college trivandrum and registration (no.10618) with the travancore-cochin medical council.

4.    If you think I am a fake the right thing would be to report me to the law enforcing authorities (I would recommend the plain clothes police men who call themselves CBI “officer”) and let the police men do their job.
            
   My humble suggestion is that it will be in the interest of both parties if you will  not get involved in the  external politics concerning me and concentrate on your professional work.



    Now I will go ahead with the details of what I have to say  of the floor plan;  that is if  you are still interested in taking up the building of the very small house of a very poor dr. cheriyath jyothi, presently residing in a rented house, valayil, kizhakkambalam – 683562 paying 4000 INR per month out of his sole income, his monthly pension of INR 6450.



B.     On second thoughts on the floor plan of the house, I had a change of mind. I think we will stick on to the old draft rather than make those drastic changes and revamp the whole thing ( and give up on my pet concepts of “cloister” and “amar baadi” and such ) as was decided at the end of the discussion on 8/3.

1.  in deed, I am happy to note that  in your sketch of 7/3 you have incorporated all my suggestions vide the initial rough sketch I have presented to you as a guide as to what I require in my dwelling place. Encouraged by this response I have improved on the original sketch and made a modified version ( enclosed herewith)  which, I feel,  should fit my pocket ( I have brought it down to 860 sq feet from your 955 ) and satisfy my basic requirements.

                a.    I have taken off the car port which as per your sketch comes to almost 130 sq ft – that is  more than one lakh INR !

                 b.    For the time being the drawing room (E) with its ramp and all, will be used as the garage; but it will be constructed with all the paraphernalia expected of a drawing room like windows and other fittings so  that it can be converted into a drawing room if so required at a later date. The breadth of (E) has been increased  ( from the initial 2.5 meters I had shown )  to 3 meters as shown by  you in your sketch of 7/3.

                 c.    I do not need a separate bedroom as the multi purpose living room (A) can serve that purpose as well. So, the room (D) can  be used at present as the drawing room. However (D) will essentially be constructed as a bed room so that at  a pinch it can be used as a bed room if so required.

               d.   I have reduced the porch (F)  (from the 3 x 2.5 in your sketch of 7/3 ) to 2.5 x 1.5. I feel that is enough to serve the purpose that it is intended for – just an entry point; coat hanger and that sort of thing. The area spared has been incorporated into the living room which I want to be as spacious as possible.

          e.   Room (G) has been increased to 2.5 x 2 and at this size I expect it will just serve the purpose it is intended for – storage space for stuff that is currently not in use there by avoiding littering; and may be even a built in ward robe !


2.  One general point I would want to impress on you is that whatever I have shown in this sketch are the internal diamensions. Rather than deducting the plinth  from these measurements, which, I am afraid are already on the lower side, there by reducing the area available inside still further, I would prefer it if you could work from these internal diamensions as the base and add the plinth area to it. ( By plinth  what I mean is the area on which the walls and columns stand. That way there could be a bit of a discrepancy as for example the area comprising G, C and D  have four walls in one diamension unlike the other rooms which have only three in that particular diamension. That I feel could be a positive thing as it adds to the area inside those rooms!)

    3.   That is all I have to say on the matter and you may please take over from here on.

    4.  Once the final floor plan is decided upon, the rest of the things, like the fittings and all, can be discussed in detail and the project finalised at the earliest.
